My Nia Journey

I found Nia in Tempe, AZ, while taking Tara Cosentio's class at Inner Vision Yoga and Pyle Adult Rec center. I became an instant Nia enthusiast, cherishing the energy shifts that overcame me while dancing in her class. Miss a Nia class? Never! Arriving tired or melancholy, I'd leave feeling light and energized. Years later, Nia still uplifts me with every movement.

When Nia Trainer and Black Belt Loretta Milo offered a White Belt teaching intensive in November 2011, I jumped at the chance. My teaching journey took flight a year later when I launched a Nia class at Luna Fitness in Tempe. In the same week, Nia instructor Razel Wolf graciously invited me to share her Nia class at the Scottsdale Athletic Club.

Building a Nia community is important not just to me, but to our Phoenix East Valley area as well. My aim is to continue sharing the Joy of Movement through local classes and special events.

Peace and love,

Becca Verna, Nia White Belt
